Hi Julien,
In BC smoking within public buildings has been banned for several years. So for years, smokers within an office have had to go outside to smoke. I've heard it said that within a given worksite, smokers are often the most informed employees within a company. Why? Because they know what's going on in many other areas of the company - they get the info from their smoking buddies. The informal network.

Connectors can also be a threat. It depends on where they are in the organization, who they are connecting to, and especially, how they connect.

I really appreciate the purity of your writing, Julien. Nice post.

The challenge? The connectors in the organization inevitably have a lot of power...and power in the wrong hands can be dangerous. I've seen ego destroy more than a few gifted connectors.

You've described exactly what we've found at IndyHall. By having a community-forward coworking space, the friction to getting things done is always approaching zero. Geoff and I talked about this at SXSW earlier this year, and caught a video.
