Hunt your prey until they collapse. This is the one true way.
When you start on this quest you will be hungry and your opponents will be far. You’ll see them in the distance but they will seem untouchable. Don’t believe it.
They will get comfortable and they will rest, but you will keep running. So you will get closer.
The sun may set and leave you in the dark. The temperature might rise until your blood boils. Because your prey is fat from its spoils and conquests, you will get closer still.
By the time you are noticed, it will be too late. You will be on them.
It is in the nature of the king to get lazy and fat. He feels unstoppable and is guarded on all sides. But one day you will get close enough.
The chase will be long. You’ll have to evade sleep, capture, and the lullaby of comfort.
If you can do this, one day you too can be king.
Hopefully, by then, you’ll have learned to watch your back.

Good stuff! When I was in South Africa, we spent a few days near Kruger and had the chance to watch a lioness hunt. It was truly an incredible event to witness. Her strategy and patience taught me a great lesson about competition, echoed in every rearview mirror in America: objects in the distance may be closer than they appear.
Hmmm, I don’t know if I want to be king. In “Henry IV” By William Shakespeare, Henry says: “Heavy is the head that wears the crown”. Margaret Croyden a theater reviewer once wrote: “He [Henry] knows that to hold the crown he will become a killer. And the killing never stops. Henry brutally slaughters the opposition and later, Prince Hal, the future Henry V, will do the same. He immediately goes to war with France to expand the empire, thus following in the footsteps of his father.”
I came to know this funny little quote, “heavy is the head that wears the crown,” when I owned our country inn and it was the Friday night tradition to serve pizza to the guests. One Friday night I had the duty and our CHEF [picture Ignatius J. Reilly from Confederacy of Dunces] walked into the kitchen and asked if I was the Pizza Queen for the night. I responded affirmatively, to which he reminded me: “Heavy is the head that wears the crown!”

Indeed the crown is heavy, but there’s no plays written about the guys who missed the Battle at Agincore. I’d rather look back with fondess for my band of brothers than stay home and watch TV.
