My 150th show, done from the balcony of a hotel room during SXSW 2007. The state and future of the web and of media personalities, my position within the structure, and where I hope to be. It all came out.
This was a great show to do.

Funny, you’re all excited about not having to wear every single item of clothing you have in order to stay warm, and I’m here wishing I could bear wearing long pants for more than 30 minutes.
Wanna trade?
Congrats on the 150 shows :)

[...] Edit: I forgot to add that Julien goes a bit into scale and perspective in his latest episode, which is the whole reason why I got off my ass and wrote this post. If you liked this post please share it with the world: [...]

Hey Julien, great show as always. I was lovin’ the rain and sirens in the bg, nothing like the real thing eh?
As you know, I’m now living in Tennessee. It’s been in the 20/30s over the last few weeks. I’ve been working out on my in-law’s deck on the laptop avec coffee, and working in shorts and T’s has been awesome: http://tinyurl.com/22euaq .
My bg on my laptop is a shot of Queen St. W & John St. in Toronto in the middle of a snow storm. It’s an awesome shot you can find here: http://tinyurl.com/282umk (I love his work!)
Every time I boot this thing up (feeling a tad bit homesick) it puts everything in perspective.
Cheers man

Hey Dave, great pictures! It’s really inspiring to look at, actually. I usually go for urban stuff but am starting to appreciate the value in solitude– I go into that in my new episode, which should be out soon.

ps, re audio/video … the money is always going to be in video, but punk’s not dead, and will never die. from 1976 on, kids have always been making loud punk music in their basements & garages, even if there are crap bands that make lots of money and the media is bored with the “movement.” Punk’s not a movement, it’s a kind of loud music that kids make. and there are as many kids making it as ever.
same with audiocasting. media will be less excited about it, but it’s not going anywhere. people will move on to other things, but there will always be new audiocasts, and some of them will be brilliant.
